DESCRIPTION:Microsoft Excel for Windows PC focuses on developing skills for computer spreadsheet use. Learn valuable computer skills as you progress through each level from Beginner to Advanced. Take all 4 classes of the series and save! \nLevel 1 \nThis session will introduce Excel and its power and potential. Formatting and data manipulation will be explored. Formulas will be used to combine and summarize data. (Pre-requisite – Basic typing & comfort working with a Windows PC) \nTuesday\, Feb 4 – 6:30-9:00 pm \nLevel 2 \nA continuation from Level 1. Continue to sort\, filter\, summarize data\, charts and tables. Complex functions & absolute references will be explored. All the different view forms will be reviewed. (Pre-requisite – Microsoft Excel Level 1 or equivalent) \nTuesday\, Feb 11 – 6:30-9:00 pm \nLevel 3 \nLevel 3 will continue to explore data manipulation. Groups\, subgroups\, charts and multiple sheets will be used to present data. Specialty functions will be used to aid in data entry and presentation. (Pre-requisite – Microsoft Excel Levels 1 and 2 or equivalent knowledge and experience using a spreadsheet program) \nTuesday\, Feb 18 – 6:30-9:00 pm \nLevel 4 \nConditional formatting\, Pick lists and Pivot tables will be explored. Inserting graphics and hyperlinks will be introduced. Data columns will be split and joined. DESCRIPTION:These three sessions are for individuals new to Window based computers. They will give you computer skills and an understanding of the basic functions along with the usefulness of computers. The course will give you confidence to explore the potential of computing. The three sessions will be adapted to the needs and wishes of the participants. Please bring a Flash Drive (USB) to save your work. \nClass 1: This session will identify and explain the working parts of the computer and how they function together. It will define the various functions within the windows start up screen and how to personalize your screen. We will explore what the mouse does and how it works. We will explore File Management and how to store and recall your files. \nClass 2: This session will review the mouse and file manager. We will navigate the internet and create and save personal favourites. Strategies will be suggested for organizing and managing Website URLs. Youtube will be introduced. \nClass 3: The first two sessions will be reviewed and expanded upon. The main focus of this session will be email. We will set up a gmail account\, send and receive email.
