SUMMARY:Human Library - Archival Literacy
DESCRIPTION:Archival Literacy is presented by St. Albert Arts & Heritage.\nTo understand our history one needs to understand archival principles and access\, as well as an understanding of the nature and use of archival based evidence. This leads us to being able to understand the traditions\, activities\, and history of a group of people from a given culture\, assisting other cultures to be more accepting of diversity\, becoming culturally literate. \nHuman Libraries started in 2003 in Denmark. They provide a safe and welcoming environment in which participants can learn more about individuals in their community by “borrowing” a person. This “Human Book” shares one-on-one time with you to learn about their life\, job\, and more. You can listen. You can ask questions. You can learn. You can open your mind. You can change your beliefs about different people and cultures. \nBook your 15 minute spot with our Literacy expert.

SUMMARY:Human Library - Sport Literacy
DESCRIPTION:Sports Literacy is presented by Former Pro Boxer Ken Lakusta. Having fought Joe Fraser and sparred with Mike Tyson\, Ken knows that as an athlete\, understanding the role sport plays in society is key as well as recognizing and accepting the discipline necessary to excel at a sport. In addition\, one needs to put your sports skills and knowledge to functional use for informed and engaged citizenship.
