An annual membership for any business that educates or assists the public has many benefits.

Our Programs

Our Star Literacy program has been helping adults in St. Albert since 1990. We offer one-on-one tutoring to assist adults in improving their reading, writing, numeracy, GED preparation, basic digital skills, English language skills, job, and life skills. All our tutors are volunteers from the community.

The Newcomer Connections program is designed to welcome, assess needs of newcomers and provide information and referrals to local businesses, nonprofit organizations and city agencies.
We offer settlement and interpreter services, resume writing, interview skills, and job search. It has Women and Men’s information and cultural groups. We also refer English language learners to our Star Literacy sister program. This program runs in person, and online classes (daytime, evening & on weekends), provides free one on one tutors and conversation circles to help newcomers.

Our volunteers are fabulous and we couldn’t provide our program without them. If you would like to be a volunteer please call              780-720-8453.
