STAR Literacy
We help with reading, writing, English Language, basic math, computer literacy, CAEC preparation and job skills by offering one-to-one tutoring.
STAR Literacy leads to other programs and courses at St. Albert Further Education to enhance your learning journey.
Our Mission
To help adults in our community achieve their full potential by improving reading, writing, numeracy, digital skills, job skills and/or English language skills.
STAR Literacy is an adult literacy program that has been helping adults in St. Albert since 1990. We offer free tutoring to assist adults in improving their reading, writing, numeracy and/or English language skills and CAEC preparation.
We work under the umbrella of the St. Albert Further Education Association and receive the majority of our funding from Alberta Advanced Education. The rest of our funding comes from grants received through community organizations, fundraising, and generous donations from local businesses and community members. STAR Literacy is a registered charity and issues tax deduction receipts.
